The 2LT Justin Sisson Award was founded in 2013. The goal is to financially aid our future leaders during their time at FSU ROTC. What began with 2 small scholarships, has now been expanded to 3 full time ROTC Cadets and one Veteran, who are continuing their education after their service. Each year a $2500 scholarship is presented to an MS2, MS3, and MS4 along with the Veteran. Candidates must exhibit the characteristics Justin stood for including Leadership, Character, and Commitment.
The Foundation also contributes to the FSU Ranger Challenge team each Fall, by providing funds to cover expenses not otherwise available. Justin was Captain of the Ranger Challenge Team that won the Regional Championship his Junior year and competed in the National Ranger Challenge event held at West Point, NY.
More than $350,000 has been raised over the past 13 years, primarily through donations from the 2LT Justin Sisson 5K Run/Walk held annually on campus at FSU.
